Bakersfield Obedience Training Club

Bakersfield Obedience Training Club (BOTC)  was founded in 1961 by a group of people who saw the need for a local club whose primary interest was obedience training for dogs.  Today  the Bakersfield Obedience Training Club continues that vision by promoting responsible dog ownership in Kern County.  We offer obedience classes to the public, support worthwhile dog-related charities, and offer weekly informal competition obedience practices.  We also  sponsor annual AKC-licensed Obedience and Rally Trials.

Our September Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Black Bear Diner, 4102 California Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93309.  Come early if you will be ordering food, and we will start the meeting at 6:00 pm.

Obedience and Rally practice is back!  These members-only Friday morning get-togethers for training are helping teams move toward their goals.  We change locations frequently, so contact our Training Committee Chair Joan Payton for the latest information.
